Calling all Michigan-based social enterprises!

A new pilot program to provide intensive support for early-stage, mission-locked Michigan businesses. We’re recruiting now for our first cohort!

Social Enterprises serve as pivotal agents of change, adeptly addressing pressing social challenges while simultaneously fostering job creation, spurring economic advancement, and fortifying community resilience.

The Social Enterprise Collective is designed to offer training and technical assistance in a critical growth stage—the first 5 years of development.

Michigan-Grown, Mission-Driven

As a collective cohort learning together over the course of 8 months, grantees will have the opportunity to share resources with and inspire each other as well as form the foundational beginnings of a statewide community supporting social enterprise development in Michigan. 

Applicants must meet the following criteria for their social enterprise (or proposed social enterprise) 

  • Based in Michigan 

  • For profit or non-profit organization 

  • Have a social or environmental mission 

  • Operate under a self-sustaining business model by selling a product or service 

About the Collective


Grant Funded Vouchers

Selected applicants will receive grant funded vouchers to participate in training workshops as well as additional grant funded vouchers to use for personalized technical assistance with subject matter experts. In addition, each organization will receive a personalized promotional video to share their pitch and help introduce their social enterprise to the public.

Total grant voucher value per organization is estimated at $15,553  

Grantees are also eligible for up to $5,275 in additional grant funding for reimbursement of expenses used to support the launch and growth of their businesses.

  • Strategic Planning 

  • Reporting and Recording Metrics
